Show .! AXTELL NEWS ITEMS The Axtell Relief society celebrated the 83rd anniversary of the founding of thfc (organization Wednesday of last week in a fitting manner. A play entitled "The Old Maid's Convention" Con-vention" was staged and it proved highly interesting and entertaining. Following the play dancing and a social so-cial time were enjoyed and later refreshments re-freshments were served. Gorge Q. Whitlock was the honor guest last Sunday evening at a well appointed party, the occasion being the celebration of his 58th birthday anniversary. Tho affair was arranged arrang-ed by Mrs. Whitlock and it proved one of the social events of the week in Axtell. Many friends were invited and a dandy time was enjoyed by all those present. The big feature was the elaborate dinner served by Mrs. Whitlock, covers being laid for some iwenty-seven guests. New officers of the Axtell Primary were elected at the conference held last Sunday aftrnoon, when Mrs. Lor-inda Lor-inda Despain was chosen as president to fill the vacancy caused by the release re-lease of Mrs. Ethel Barton. Myrtcl Jensen was mimed as first counsellor Wyow Larson, second counsellor, and Ethel Sorensou, secretary-treasurer. |
