Show Did Yon Ever Stop To Think? I By E. R. WAITE, Secretary, Shawnee, Okla., Board of Commerce. 4 THAT too many cities have too many so-called "respectable citizens" who violate or encourage others in violating laws. 4 THAT the activities of this pernicious class is especially notice- 4 able in regard to the tax laws. 1 2 ' THAT large numbers of people claiming to be good citizens 4 make every effort possible to evade the payment of their taxes. .$ THAT they try to saddle in every way their share on other citizens and try to force them to carry a double burden. : THAT the success of a city and county depend in a great measure on how its laws are enforced. THAT if every citizen paid his just share of taxes, most cities ;' would get along better. 1 THAT some people have an over-abundance of nerve. The tax-dodger has a little more than the average. THAT they show a sad lack of appreciation for the city in ; S which they live. 1 1 THAT you can't blame the honest tax-payers for being "peeved" they have a right to be. ? THE laws and especially tax laws should be enforced or taken i from the statute books.
