Show us win when we begin playing our basketball games. The afternoon's events were follow-jej follow-jej by the first student body dance of the season. It was well attended, j which was encouraging for the first I ciance. We hope for others equally I good if not better. ! I HIGH SCHOOL NOTES 1 "! : 1- In May, before the closing of school for the summer vacation, State Supt. C. N. Jensen prepared a test n English that was sent to all the 19 High Schools of the state. The lenior class of each school was given the test for the purpose of making a rating as to the ability and stand-ng stand-ng of the class and also to determine .he rating of the high schools of the jtats on a uniform test. No notification was given as to vhen it would be given or the type jf review that was to come, hence -here was no preparation or coaching on the part of any school. The results jf the test have now been published and distributed to the school people throughout the state. The Gunnison v"alley 'high school ranks 12th. Ours ,s the first so far as schools that are run for 34 weeks. The schools ahead of us are all 36 week schools. The Boxelder school ranks first, with 3gden, Payson, East High, Lehi, Price, Granite, Richfield, Bingham, Morth Cache, and West High just lhead of us. Friday afternoon, Oct. 8th, the students of the high school held a A-ork-day. The campus was given a chorough cleaning, which greatly improved the appearance of it. After :he work was finished a series of ;ontests were held. The Freshman girls won the game of indoor baseball, base-ball, placed with the Sophomore girls. The Freshman boys were just .s fortunate as their classmates, the girls, for they were the winners of he basketball game they played .vith the Sophomore boys. Last but ,ot least, was the faculty game. They played the school team, and took the nonors from it. All through the various contests ;he students showed splendid school 'spirit". We expect this spirit to help |
