They went to hear their daughter, Miss Belva Sorenson compete in the ora-torial ora-torial contest. Miss Belva represented repre-sented the 11th district and wdiile she did noi capture first prize she was highly commended for her efforts. Her subject was "chastity." Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Pleasant ; Sunday and were the guests of friends for the clay. Mrs. L. H. Johnson, who sipent a I week at Salt Lake, returned to her home here Monday of this week. Mrs. Hugh Kearns remained in the city and will visit with relatives for two weeks or more. Others of the party returned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. John Neiting of Idaho Falls, and Miss Nellie Kerr of Payson, were the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Bauer Thursday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. John Gobble of Salina, Sal-ina, spent Monday of this week as the guests at the homa of Mr. and) Mrs. Chas. W. Perkins. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Lund were among those from the valley attending attend-ing "strawberry day" alt Pleasant Grove last week. They report a big time and an abundance of delicious fruit and were loud in their praise of the hospitality extended by the Pleasant Grove citizens. Kearnes Ferre, a student at the University du::ing the past school year, is at home with his parents for the summer. i M rs. S. M. Caldwell of Salina, was was here the first days of the week, visiting with Mr. Caidwell, the jeweler. jewel-er. Mr. Caldwell is planning on removing re-moving his 'family to Gunnison and making this 'city his permanent home. The Misses Virginia and Jean Holmstead of American Forks, are spending a week's vacation and are visitinjr with their grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Hofhein.5. Mrs. V. C.
