Show Dan Cupid Stars In Valley; Prominent Families United Dan Cupid is aiming correctly an:! successfully with his arrow in the valley this month, and as a result of his consolidation in courtship four weddings were solemnized yesterday, breaking the record for a day's matrimonial mat-rimonial grist for the valley. Among them was Miss Ora Hendrickson and Frank Mortensen; Miss Alp'hilda Anderson and Newell Olsen; Miss Arviila Roylance and Alton Jensen, and Miss Ramona Sorenson and J. Lyman Bowker. HENDRICKSON-MORTENSEN Miss Ora Hendrickson, daughter of Mils. Christena Hendrickson of Cen-terficld, Cen-terficld, and Frank Mortenson of Granger, were married yesterday morning at Manti, N. L. Edmunds county clerk, officiating. The cere-money cere-money was performed in the p-es-ence of only the immediate' members of the two families and immediately following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs Mortenson left for their future home at Magna, where Mr. Morten-sen Morten-sen is employed at the Utah Copper company. M.rS. Mortenson, the new bride, is ia native of Centcrfield and has been a social leader in the younger set. She completed her school work here and has been always al-ways an active church and Sunday school worker. Mir1. Mortenson, a unlive of Granger, is widely known and -is a valued employe of the copper cop-per company. They have hosts of friends who will join in wishing them happiness and prosperity. SOiRENSON-BOWKER j ' Another cer emony and in which a j prominent social and church leader I of Center-field became a bride, was I the marriage of Miss Ramona Sor- J enson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris. Sorenson of Center-field to J. , L. Bowker of SaK Lake. The marriage mar-riage was performed at the Salt I Lake temple yesterday morning. I Last evening an elaborate wedding j reception was given at the Hotel j Utah and many friends were present to greet the newlyweds. Ml s. Bowker, Bow-ker, the new bride, is among Utah's prominent educators. She graduat- j ed from the. state university and holds j a life high school diploma. She had j signed a eonlract as one of the teachers tea-chers at the, Gunnison high school for! the coming season, but Dan Cupid j won out. Mr. Bowker, also a grail-; uate of the University, is a native of j Blackfoot, Idaho. He is an expert! accountant and is now employed by j the International Smelting company j at Sate Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Bowker: will make their home at Salt Lake, i I JENSEN-ROYLANCE . i Alton Jensen and Miss Arviila i Roylance, two popular younw people of the valley, were married at the Manti temple yesterday morning. The marriage was a quiet affair and! following the ceremony the bride and: groom returned to their home hre. Owing !to illness of the mother of the J bride no elaborate reception was giv- j 'in. However, members of the fami-: ly gathered at the home and extend-! ed the heartiest congratulations fori a happy and prosperous life. Both Mr. and Mrs. Jensen are well anl favorably fa-vorably known here and both, are natives na-tives of Center-field. JENSEN-JENSEN Tire announcement of the marriage of Fieemand Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.nton Jensen, and Miss Mable Jensen, both of Centcrfield, was made public late last week. The marriage was solemnized at Manti Tusday of last week, N. L. Edmunds officiating in the presence of members mem-bers of the families and a few friends. Following the marriage Mr. and Mrs. Jensen returned to Center-field Center-field -where they were greeted by friends. Wednesday morning they ft for Stockton, Calif., whre Mr. I'Jersen is employed as signalman for jthe Southern Pacific railroad, and jwhese the bride and groom will re-i re-i side permanently. Mr. Jensen is the I son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Jensen of . Center-field, and the bride is the OLSEN-ANDERSON Following the ceremony at the Mantii tempk, at which time Miss Alphilda Anderson and Newell Olsen. two of Gunnison's young social leaders, lead-ers, were married, an elabo-ate wedding supper was tendered the newlyweds at the home of the bride. The reception was attended by twenty-six, being immediate relatives rela-tives and friends of both bride and "-nom. Mrs. Olsen, the daughter of Mir. and Mrs. Nephi Anderson, has been one of Gunnison's most active school and church workers. She graduated from the Gunnison high school two years ago and finr bed her school with h'gh honors. She is an accomplished musician and very popular with the younger set. Mr-. Olsen is the son of Bishop and Mrs Hans C. Olsen. He is one of th? valley's val-ley's progressive farmers and is liked lik-ed by all who know him. Mr. and Mrs. Clsen have boss of warm i f s lends who will join in wish'ng them happiness and prosperity on their' I matrimonial voyage. They will j nvke their home at Axtell where Mr. : Clsen. has a farm. daughter of James S. Jensen. Mrs. Jensen has been employed clerk at the Star markelt for more than two years. The well wishes of hosts of friends are extended to Mr. and Mrs. Jensen. I |
