Show Mrs. Chas. A. Fredrickson of Salt Lake was the guest of her' daughter, Mrs. Joseph Willardson,' several days this week. Mr. and and Mrs. Eldon Willardson, Willard-son, who were visiting here from Los Angeles, were the honor guests at a well appointed dinner party given by Mrs. Hyrum Christiansen at her home Monday evening at five o'clock. The table and home deco-lations deco-lations were cleverly cariied out in white, roses and carnations being used in profusion. Covers were laid for twelve guests. Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Gledhill, Miss Alice Gledhill and Miss Gladys Johnson John-son motored to Delta Saturday morning. The party returned early after noon and in time to enjoy the sport program on the 24th. P. M. Pariy, the "white stone man" of Manti, was in Gunnison yesterday yes-terday looking after business matte-is. Patrick T. Henry, the Gunnison druggist, spent several days at Salt Lake this week looking after business busi-ness matters. Iltber C. Hicks, secretary' of the state securities commission, with Mrs. Hicks, were in the city from Salt Lake last Saturday for a brief visit. They were enroute to Southern South-ern Utah . L. R. Fournier, general superintendent superin-tendent for the Telluride Power company, com-pany, was here from Richfield Tuesday Tues-day looking after the company's interests in-terests . Miss Virginia Peterson, who spent a couple of weeks here as the guest of he- mother, left for her home at Los Angeles yesterday monring. Mr.- and Mrs. "Ben Childs and Francis and Buddy Childs, and Miss Trilma Francis, motored to Levan last Sunday and remained until Monday Mon-day visiting with friends and relatives. rela-tives. Mr. and Mrs. John T. Spencer, accompanied by their daughter, Miss Alice Spencer, Were travelers to Salt Lake last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer returned Monday, and- Miss Alice, who had been visiting with her parents here, remained in the city for an indefinite visit. Misses Ruth Jensen and Constance Gremsgard availed themselves of the low railroad rates and went to the capital city to spend the- 24th. They returned home Monday. Mrs. Bayard Tuft went to Magna last Friday and was the house guest at the home of Mr, .and Mrs. Geo. Douglas. Misses Elna and Julia Modeen and Miss Bertha Mortensen were among the holiday visitors to Salt Lake. The young ladies left Friday and returned Monday. Harold Bradley, of the Gunnison Valley high school faculty, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs . Bradley . and Miss Betty Lou Bradley, have returned to Gunnison after an absence of six weeks. Mr. Bradley attended the summer training school at the University, Uni-versity, specializing in music and physical education. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Lund, Misses Elveria and Ada Lund, were among those from Gunnison valley attending attend-ing the annual encampment held at Logan last week. They report the encampment larger and better than ever before . Bert Willardson, with the Poultry Producers' association, accompanied by Mrs. Willardson, spent several days here as the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Willardson. P. P. Childs, Mr', and Mrs. John Peterson, Miss Arda Peterson, .Miss Roberta Childs and Newell Childs returned the first of the week after a week's absence in the northern part of the state. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Isaacson at Garland, Gar-land, and enroute home made brief stops at Ogden and Salt Lake. : j LOCAL ITEMS j OF INTEREST I -. -. : 1- Miss Ida Johnson has returned to her home in Gunnison after being away for the past six weeks. She was attending the summer school session at the University. Mr. and Mrs. D. H.- Whitten-burg, Whitten-burg, Miss Betty and Master Bobbie Whittenbu:g and Mrs. Hyrum Fred-rickson Fred-rickson motored to Fishlake Tuesday. Tues-day. They will spend the week-end at the resort. E. L. Fjeldsted came in from Pro-vo Pro-vo last Saturday and will spend two or three weeks as the guest of his sisters, Misses Evelyn and Elna Fjeldsted, and Mrs. Arthur Johnson John-son . Mr. and Mrs. Ray B. Mctcalf and the Misses Alda and Beulah Met-calf Met-calf returned Tuesday from Salt Lake and P ovo, where they visited with friends and relatives for several sev-eral days. Tomorrow they will go to Fishlake for the week-end. Misses Vonda and Ireta Henrie of Manti were visitors at the 'home of Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Henrie yesterday yester-day afternoon. Hal Kerr, chief assistant engineer for the state road commission, accompanied ac-companied by his son, Cessford, were here last Friday for a short visit. Mr. Kerr was returning from the southern section, where he was making mak-ing an official visit. Eldon Willardson, who has been here for a couple of weeks visiting with his wife and parents, will leave for his Los Angeles home tomorrow. Mrs. Willardson expects to leave for the coast sometime during the coming com-ing week. Mr. and Mrs. June Metcalf of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Vil-lardson Vil-lardson of Los Angeles were Eph- raim visitors last Friday. Mrs. J. B. Jensen, Miss Rose j Jensen and Glenn and Floyd Jensen came in from their home at Grace, Idaho, last week, and were the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lavour oorhees for several days. Ellis Pritchett, the AYyoming stockman, stock-man, was here last Saturday and. Sunday visiting with Mrs. Pritchett. Pritch-ett. Mr. Pritchett reports Coke-ville Coke-ville and the section surrounding as ' prosperous and that the stockmen ! were highly optimistic for good returns re-turns during the coming fall . ' Misses Vio and Lucile Sorensen are' in the city for a three-weeks' stay and they are occupying their homej in the western part of the city. The Misses Sorenson just recently returned re-turned from a vacation trip to east- ern points and while away visited 1 the principal eastern cities, attended : 'the sesquicetennial at Philadelphia i ( and enjoyed a trip down the famous ! St. Lawrence river. They report a fine trip. ' Miss Tursell Childs was the guest of friends at Helper last Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Knighton left for Salt Lake Friday and spent! j the 24th with relatives and friends! : at the capital city. I Mrs. M. L. Mansfield has returned return-ed from Salt Lake and Bingham ; where she visited with relatives. Mrs . . Elmer Holyeson and . son, Howard, have returned from a ten-day ten-day visit with Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Holyeson at Smithfield. Mrs. Holyeson Holye-son attended the Logan encampment and visited several sections in the northern part of the state. Adolph Peterson, of the Elite Bakery, Bak-ery, returned Tuesday after a brief business visit to Ogden and other' northern cities. While absent he j contracted for a large shipment of j hard wrheat flour for his bakery. , Misses Alta Peterson and Laura ' Ferre have returned from a six-i six-i weeks' absence at Salt Lake. They were taking a course at the summer j school held at the University of I Utah. ! Mrs. A. V. Sanderson has retum-' retum-' ed after a three-weeks' visit with I Mr. and Mrs. Dolph Sanderson, i The latter, Mrs. Sanderson reported, were rejoicing over the arrival of a , fine, 6-pound baby girl and that all were doing fine. , Martin Peterson, the Ford dealer, I left for Salt Lake yesterday. Hagan was the charm-! charm-! ing hostess to the members of the Bonne Foi club yesterday afternoon, the diversion being needlecraft. During the sewing hour Mrs. F. H.
