Show Local Lions Hear Convention Report A comprehensive report of the International In-ternational Lions convention, held at San Francisco last week, by President Presi-dent Overfelt of the local club, who was an alternate from the Gunnison club, occupied the major portion of the time of the regular luncheon meeting at the Wistaria last evening. even-ing. President Overfelt, after having hav-ing reports from the various local committees, gave a brief talk and told of the "big" time held at the Bav City. Utah, Mr. Overfelt staged, was well represented, and swelled the number of attendants, which was estimated af 10,000. This included Lions, lionesses and cubs. Of this number 1,000 were delegates. Tha various meetings were well attended, the report stated, and real work in Lionism was exploited by the various vari-ous speakers. William A. Westfall, of Mason City, Iowa, was elected president without opposition, succeeding BeD-jamin BeD-jamin Jones. Irving Camp and Benj. A. Ruffian were elected first and second vice-presidents, and R. L. Riley was chosen for third vice-president. vice-president. Miami, Florida, wa chosen as the convention city for 1927. Lion Overfelt returned with a souvenir for each member of the local lo-cal club a corncob" pipe a compliment compli-ment from the Missouri delegation. He also brought a Chinese pipe and at the meeting last evening Lion Fred Jones was the lucky one drawing draw-ing the favor- . President Overfelt was accompanied accompa-nied by Mrs. Overfelt and J. W. Jones, district governor-elect, and Mrs. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. 0"0'--felt returned Monday and Mr. nd Mrs. Jones are expected home to-Jday. |
