Show Youth Steals Car; Abandons Machine After enjoying a ride in an automobile, auto-mobile, which he took without the owner's permission, Quinten Bou-vang, Bou-vang, returned to Gunnison Tuesday afternoon, minus the auto. Quinten appropriated the auto Sunday evening, even-ing, while parked in front of the Casino theatre, and without consulting consult-ing the owner, Dan Romney of Centerfield, Cen-terfield, and headed north. When he reached the town of Mona, he discovered dis-covered he had a flat tire and was out of gas and he abandoned the machine ma-chine and started on the return trip. Reaching Levan he hailed a passing car and was given a ride to Fillmore and from there Bouvang walked to Salina and from the latter city secured se-cured a ride to Gunnison. When the owner of the car came from the picture show he discovered that his car, a Ford coupe, was missing mis-sing and he immediately notified the officers. A hasty search was made and after inquiry it was found that oth the car and Bouvang had departed de-parted together. Failing to get information, in-formation, Romney went to Salt Lake in the hopes of intercepting the culprit, and to further notify the officers there. Officers in the adjoining counties as well as the local county officers were also notified, but before the search could be well started Bouvang returned and told of his experiences. When questioned as to the cause Bouvang stated that he was just out for a "joy ride" and that he would have gone farther had not misfortune misfor-tune overtaken him. Until the owner own-er of the machine returns from the capitol city, no action will be taken, but more than l'ikely acomplaintJ will be sworn to. Many complaints have been registered about the action of the boy and more than likely it will be insisted that action be started start-ed or that the guardians exercise 'more pow- over the young man. |
