Show Auioists Warned To Observe Rules Driving without lights and ignoring ignor-ing the traffic rules in Gunnison, must be stopped. The warnings that have been given both through the News and by the officers, seems to have little effect on the law violators arid from now on the rule is to be rigidly enforced. Speeders will be arrested and given a chance to explain ex-plain to the justice of the peace. Autoists driving without lights, or with only one, are cautioned to visit the garage man and have repairs made or else they will be hailed . before the court to tell the judge. Thus spoke Marshall R. L; Tollestrup to a News man yesterday. Marshal Tollestrup is determined that the i laws in so far as fast driving, parking, park-ing, driving with one or less lights and the general rules that govern the safety of the public will be rigidly rigid-ly enforced and to this end the first culprit caught will be placed under arrest. j During the" heavy (trading hours ; last Saturday evening and when the : streets were crowded with autoists, no less than six cars were halted for being on the streets with a crippled lighting system, only one light being.1 in use. The drivers were given fair warning that they must comply with the local and state laws and aid in protecting the safety of the public. Speeding on main street is also to be banned. Careless driving is to be j stopped and the observance of driv- j ing of the proper side of the street ! and the piloting of cars by chidren under 16 years of age is to be check- j . ed. Marshall Tollestrup, insists that; the rules be adhered to and by so j doing the safety of pedestrians, child ren and all will be assured. j |
