Show New Quarters For Local Postoffice Just as soon as arrangements can be made, the present site of the Gunnison Gun-nison postoffice will be removed to more commodious quarters and Postmaster Post-master Leo Gledhill states that some time this week the office will be le-moved le-moved to the Villard building, just across the street from the present site and into the building formerly occupied by the Gunnison City National Na-tional bank. Authoridation for the move has been received by Postmaster Post-master Gledhill from C. W. Pfaffen-berger, Pfaffen-berger, inspector of the postofliice department at Salt Lake City. Generally speaking the proposed move of the postoflice will be mei with hearty approval. The city has grown to a point where larger quarters quart-ers were sadly in need and when a petition was circulated asking for better building accommodations, little opposition was offered. Postmaster Gledhill expects to have the office moved and ready for business during the coming week. JThe new location is ideally arranged arrang-ed for the office. The lobby will be much larger and the arrangement can be made so that there will not be the crowding as is the case in the present quarters. In addition to the accommodations that will be afforded afford-ed in the lobby, there are two large rooms that will serve splendidly for work and mailing departments. A large safe, formerly used by the bank, will afford ample accommodations accommoda-tions and safety for records, stamps and valuable papers. |
