Cox, president of the San- pete County farm bureau, and F. M. ; Cox of Manti, spent Monday in this city looking after business matters. Mayor Christiansen, who has been ; confined to his home the most of the week as the result of a cold, is much better and today he was able to be ' up and about. Miss Jennie Work and Mrs. Maria Nelson Dumgaard of Manti, were visitors at the home of Miss McMoni-gal McMoni-gal and Miss Curtis the early days of this week. Mrs. P. A. Beck, in answer to a summons announcing the sickness of a brother, left for Salina yesterday. The lad is confined to his home suffering suff-ering from an attack of pneumonia. Mrs. Peter Anderson of Drummond, Idaho, is here and is the guest at the home of her sister, Mrs. Sophia Erickson. Mrs. Anderson expects to visit in Gunnison two weeks or more. Mrs. A. M. Christensen, who has been at Salt Lake for a week taking special medical treatment, returned to her home in Gunnison last evening. Her health is much improved. Miss Eldora Ekelof, who has been absent for the past nine months at Schellbourne, Nevada, visiting with relatives, is at her home in Gunnison. She expects to remain here indefinite with her father, L. Ekelo. Mrs. Conrad Frischknecht was hostess to members of the Bonne Foi club yesterday afternoon. Needle-'craft, Needle-'craft, a reading by a club member and delicious refreshments were the features of the meeting. ' Miss Addie Childs will take a two' weeks' well earned vacation and Wednesday she left for Salt Lake. Before returning she will spend some time at Ogden and other northern Utah cities. Rev. A. V. Boand of Mt. Pleasant will conduct services at the Presbyterian Presby-terian chapel in Gunnison ftext Tuesday Tues-day evening. Services will start at 8 o'clock and the public is invited to be present. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Whitlock, well known here, are receiving the congratulations con-gratulations of their hosts of friends over the arrival of a fine baby boy at their home in Mayfield. The baby was born last Saturday and all are doing nicely. Little Dora Coates was hostess to a number of her little friends at an anniversary party at the Kozi last Friday evening. The affair was given giv-en by Mrs. Coates and the guests enjoyed a delightful evening dancing and enjoying refreshments. A slight error in naming the winners win-ners at the Gribble anniversary party held last week appeared in the News of last week. Mrs. Chas. Perkins and H. A. Kearns were, announced as winners of the second prize when they should have been credited with winners of the first prize. |
