Show Local News Mrs. Dean Brown and Miss Barbara Bar-bara Brown of Salina were the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. II. A. Kearns this week. Oscar Anderson, expert mining man, left for Marysvale last Sunday. He has accepted a position with the Valdasla Mining company and expects ex-pects to be absent several months. Krnest Halverson, local represen-1 tatlve for the Kansas City Life In-Hurance In-Hurance company, spent several days! this week at Richfield and Salina in the interests of his company. Hugh Halverson, a otudent of the Wasatch Academy at Mt. I'leasant, was here several days the first of the week combining business with pleasure. Kldiin W'illardson left for Salt Lake City Tuesday morning of this week, expecting to remain for several months. Ho will enter the Unlver-ity Unlver-ity of I'tah for the purpose of taking tak-ing a special course In chemistry. Advices from Ceorgn Francis, who Is In Salt Lake, with Mrs. Francis, is to the effect that. Mrs. Francis is fast regaining her health and will shortly leave the hospital. Mrs. Francis recently underwent an operation. opera-tion. Mrs. and Mrs. C. Kdmonds were travelers to Salt Lake City last Saturday. Sat-urday. Mr. Kdmonds returned to Cunnison Tuesday and Mrs. Kdmonds and the children will remain at the capital city for some timo visiting with relatives and friends. Mrs. Ira Overfolf was hostess to the club members of the Bonne Fid yesterday afternoon from two to five thirty. During the neodlecraft hour Mrs. Krnest Swalberg gave an interesting inter-esting reading. At five o'clock Mrs. Overfc.lt served a delicious luncheon. Miss Gladys Larson had, as her guests, the members of the "Lonesome "Lone-some Six" club Friday evening of Last week. The occasion was the anniversary of Miss Larson and a most delightful time was had. A dinner din-ner was served at seven o'clock and covers were laid for eight. Following Follow-ing dinner the guests attended the danco. Robert Howell, a brother to Mrs. Ira Overfelt, and who has been here for several months past, left for his home at Hawk Point, Mo., Thursday Thurs-day morning of last week. Enroute home he stopped over at St. Louis and visited with his sister, Miss Alma Al-ma Howell, who is well known in this city. Robert, before leaving, stated that he became in love with the west and it is more than likely that he will return some time later. |
