Show Funeral Held For Mrs. Simonsen Impressive funeral services were held from the Relief society hall lat Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Anne M. Simonsen, the aged woman who passed away at her home in Gunnison Gunni-son last Sunday morning. Mrs. Sim-monsen Sim-monsen had been in failing health for some time, and owing to her advanced ad-vanced aged, combined with her illness, ill-ness, she passed peacefully to the beyond. be-yond. The services were under the direction direc-tion of Bishop E. L. Swalberg and Adolph Peterson. Invocation was offered by Andrew Anderson of Manti, Man-ti, an old time acquaintance of the deceased. Following the invoca- tion th3 choir sang "Though Deepening Deepen-ing Trials." John Larson and Andrew Jensen, the speakers at the services, paid a high tribute to the departed woman. They dwelt at length on the splendid traits and the goodness always al-ways coming from the one who was ever ready to help the needy and distressed. dis-tressed. Mrs. Emily Knighton rendered ren-dered a solo and the choir sang "Shall We Meet Beyond the River?" Benediction was ottered by Martin . Madsen. v Mrs. Simmonsen was a native of Denmark and she came to the Gunnison Gunni-son valley many years ago, finally settling in this city, where she has resided almost continuously. Had she lived until the 20th of the coming com-ing month she would have been 77 years of age. Mrs. Simmonsen, early in lite, joined the I. D. S. church, and she has been an ardent worker and faithful in her belief. She is survived by three sons, Marius and August of Salt Lake City, and Niles J. of this city. Both Marius and August were here from Salt Lake to attend the funeral of their mother. |
