Show WHAT'S THE ANSWER? j It's our honest belief that congress could do a lot more for the ! j happiness and prosperity of this nation if it would at its next ses- j i sion lay aside wrangling over foreign affairs and rum running and j frame laws whereby the producers of America could get satisfactory j I serivce out of their railroads. The wheat belt, just when it need:; j ! cars to market its harvest and feed the world, can't get them. And j when ihey are finally provided the freight rates are so high that the i producers' profit is eaten up. Roads which run into the greatest ! agricultural regions of America go all to pieces when gigantic crops are ready to be moved, with a resultant loss of millions of dollars to both producers and consumer. j There must be some way to remedy such defects in a nation ! as great as ours. Isn't it worth more to look after the interest of ! our own people than those who have absolutely no claim on us, j but who have about come to believe that there is no need in working work-ing as long as they can beg what they need from America? V. hat's the answer? |
