Show Services Held For Mrs. Newman Solemn and impressive funeral services were held last Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Anetta Newman, wife of Silas Newman, from the Relief Re-lief Society chapel. The chapel was filled with sorrowing friends and relatives rel-atives who had gathered to pay the last respects to the young mother who had been called to the Great Beyond. Be-yond. Mrs. Newman died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Kenney, last Saturday afternoon. Some three months ago she was stricken with heart trouble, and this malady, superinduced with complications, complica-tions, is given as the cause of death. Mrs. Newman was surrounded by her husband, father and mother, and brothers and sisters, when the end came. The deceased was born in Gunnison, Gunni-son, April 6, 1900. She had been a resident of the city and valley practically prac-tically all her life. Mrs. Newman, early in life, became a member of the L. D. S. church, and has always been faithful to the cause. In 19 20 she was married to Silas Newman, and one son, now 15 months old, was born to them. Mrs. Newman, in her girlhood days, attended the public schools of this city and was widely known for her charitable and loving kindness." Mrs. Newman, besides the sorrowing sorrow-ing husband and infant son William, is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Kenney; one sister, sis-ter, Mrs. K. H. Brown of Salt Lake City, and two brothers, Leo and Alma Kenney of this city. Services last Wednesday were conducted con-ducted by Bishop Ernest Swalberg. A selected quartet rendered several appropriate selections, and Hyrum Christiansen and Parley Christiansen were the speakers. Bishop Swalberg sang a solo. A profusion of beautiful floral offerings of-ferings from sorrowing friends and relatives was a marked respect shown to the young mother whose life was ended so early. Following the services at the chapel chap-el the body was taken to the city cemetery for final interment. |
