Show Book Drive Brings Handsome Returns The "book drive" recently staged in Gunnison under the supervision of the Parent-Teachers' association, and for the purpose of establishing a free library for the city, proved highly high-ly successful. The several teams contesting for honors in the drive, secured more than 300 books, all of which are high class, many of them being of the classic order and by noted authors. Not only did the several sev-eral teams secure the number of books mentioned but promises made give those back of the library, assurance assur-ance that this number will be increased in-creased very materially. The room in the city hall and formerly for-merly used as an office by the high school, is to be fitted up and used temporarily as the library room and it is likely that the city council will grant the permanent use of the room as the home for the Gunnison library. lib-rary. The matter will be taken up at the regular meeting of the council coun-cil when action will be taken. More books can be used and in addition ad-dition to this, some chairs, tables and other furniture will be heartily accepted by. willing donors.
