Show Water Regulations To Be Enforced With a view to equalizing the use j of the city water and for the purpose j I of suppressing the "greedy" habit I of allowing users to apply the water i out of turns, a stringent enforcement enforce-ment of the rules regulating the distribution dis-tribution is to be rigidly enforced in Gunnison. The order has been issued is-sued by the city officials that the water must be used in the regular turns and all those found violating the rule will be severely dealt with. The campaign was started the first of the week when on three occasions It was found that water was being used out of turn and until the penalty pen-alty was paid the vater was turned off. Through th.9 tact that many new users are being added, especially on the east side, it ba.j become necessary neces-sary to make a strict enforcement of the rules in order that all may be served equally. The order is not ing enforced on account of the shortage short-age of water Du?. when being used out of turn it ireates a great inconvenience incon-venience to those who rightly have the turn. By the arrangements made, districts have been created and certain hours are alloted for the different districts. The scheme, when conformed to, will give excellent excel-lent service to all and the officer.? ask that cooperation be the keynote in creating and maintaining a better bet-ter service. The city ordinance is plain in the matter of regulating the use of the waters for sprinkling and irrigating purposes. It provides that in violation vio-lation the water can be turned off i and the guilty ones can be fined one dollar. For the second offense a penalty of $25 can be imposed. It is not the purpose to work an inconvenience on anyone, sa'd an official, of-ficial, and if all will work in harmony har-mony and adhere to the provisions the service will be greatly improved. However, a strict watch is to be kept and those found violating tne ordinance ordin-ance will be made to suffer the consequences. |
