Show FAYETTE NEWS ITEMS. .f. (Special Correspondence.) Fayette, July 27. A goodly number num-ber of citizens, accompanied by their wives and children, attended the Stake picnic at the Gunnison Reservoir Reser-voir last Friday. The following from Fayette are rusticating in Twelve Mile Canyon: Mrs. Sarah Hill and children, Elda Hill, Verda Christensen, Flossie Mel-lor Mel-lor and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Mellor. The week-end visitors to Fayette were Wilford Recs of Wales and Clayton Peterson cf Ephraim. Ervin Mellor and children were the guests of friends and relatives at Ephraim on Pioneer Day. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olsen were Salina visitors the early part of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Greaves of Preston, Pres-ton, Idaho, were the house guests of ' Mr. and Mrs. II. L. Bartholomew a few days this week. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Anderson and Mr. and Mrs, Rodney Anderson of Moroni were the guests of Arley Anderson here on the 24th. Pioneer Day at Fayette passed into history as one of the best and jolli-ost jolli-ost ever seen here. The day started with a parade, following which a spicy and interesting program was rendered. A children's dance and sports in the afternoon and a big dance at night were all enjoyed to the utmost. Elgin Mellor, 23 years old, was taken to the Salina hospital last Saturday Sat-urday night where an operation lor appendicitis was performed. Elgin, with companions, was enroute to Fish Lake and was at Sigurd when he was stricken. He was rushed to the hospital hos-pital and the operation performed at once. The case was an extremely bad one and only for (he timely action ac-tion of the doctors that the young man's life was saved. Just as soon is the news reached hero, Mr. and Mrs. James Mellor, the boy's parents, hurried to Salina to be with their son. Reports from the hospital are to the effect that Elgin is getting along fine. Mrs. Tom Robinson, who has been visiting in Northern Utah and Idaho for several 'weeks past, has returned to her home in Parotic. The Misses Beth and Janette ley-gat ley-gat of Salt Lake, who spent part of the summer here wiUi friends, Lift Thursday for their home. Miss Lucile Gold returned to her home in Salt Lake Friday of last w ok. She had been visiting at the home of John Down for several weeks past. Fern Mellor and baby spent last week visiting with relatives at Monroe. Mon-roe. I Lucy Boyle and daughter, Ray and Bird Lisonbee, of Salt Lake, visited for a few days this week with their mother, Sarah Lisonbee, and family. |
