They are combining business with pleasure. Mr.and Mrs. Russell Nielaon and Miss Georgie Neilson of Goshen, spent Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday with friends and relatives rel-atives in Gunnison and Fayette. Mrs. Emma Reams, who has been ap-sentat ap-sentat Salt Lake for the past four months visitinng with her children, has returned to her home in Gunnison. Mrs. Dora Hansen and her boys, Avon and Lloyd Hansen, of Redmond, were the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Fredriikson several days this week. James Kaxter went to the county seat Monday morning. He will serve as a juror during the present term of the District court which convened the first of the week. Mrs. Abe Reigert and son, Milton, of! Monroe, retruned to their home Wed- nesday. They had been the house j guests of Mr. and Mrs. II. S. Basow I hince Sunday. I Miss E. G. Newman, daughter of Mrs. S. E. Newman, hag returned te her home in Salt Lake. She spent several days here visiting with her mother and other relatives. Fred Jorgenscn, of Centerfield. left yesterday morning for Ingamar, Mont. He has secured a good position sheep-shearing sheep-shearing and expexts to be absent until Ihe first of July. Mrs. Miles Madsen, and Eddie Mad-sen, Mad-sen, are in Richfied for a brief visit with Mrs. Tom Brown. The latter will leave for Los A ngeies shortly where she will remain indefinitely. Judge and Mrs. J. W. Cherry, Miss Winona Cherry and James and Keller Ranks Cherry, of Mt. Pleasant, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. II. W. Cherry in this city last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Brice McBride of Salt Lake, were guests of the Gunnison hotel this week. Mr. McBride, water commissioner for the Sevier river district, dis-trict, was here on an official visit. Herbert Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. Johnson, left for home at Salt Lake the first of the week. They had been here for several days visiting with Mr. Johnson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Johnson. Lon Voorhees reached his 54th milestone mile-stone last Sunday and to commemorate the occasion Mrs. Voorheese tendered a dinner party in his behalf. An elaborate dinner was served at five o'clck, covers cov-ers being laid for 14. Mr. and Mrs. Will Perkins have returned re-turned from a brief visit to Santaquin and Provo. They motored north last Sunday, returning Tuesday. They were accompanied on their return trip by their daughter Miss Ruth Perkin, who had been teaching school at Santaquin. A prize baby was born to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Caldweld of South Centerfield on Wednesday of last week. The baby, which Daddy Caldwell boasts loudly, is a boy, and when he arrived he tipped the scale at 12 and a half pounds. Both mother and child are doing splendidly. J. L. Ewing, former publisher of the Richfield Reaper, but now operating a job office at the Sevier county metropolis, metro-polis, was a visitor to Gunnison Tues day for a short time. Mr. Ewing was with the Commercial Club members of Richfield and they vrere enroute to Manti where they staged the minstrel show, "The Tar Babies" Tuesday night. |
