Show j Society I The social event of the week was the "miscellaneous" shower given in compliment to Miss Edna Borg of Richfield, whose marriage to Miles Madsen of Gunnison is announced for the coming week. The event was held at the home of C. M. Madsen, and was tendered by Mrs. .J A. Hagan and Mrs. C. M. Madsen. 'Some forty-five J guests were present, those from the outside being the bride-elect, Miss Borg', -and her mother, Mrs. Tom Brown of Richfield. Progressive five hundred was played until 11:30, at which time a delicious supper was served. Those winning favors tit cards were Mrs. Ed. Jensen, first prize, and Mrs. C. N. Jensen, second. Following cards the bride and groom-elect groom-elect opened the many beautiful and useful presents that had been given them. Following this ceremony the young couple were tendered a shower of rice. - o Immediate relatives, numbering twenty-six, planned and cleverly executed exe-cuted an agreeable surprise for Mr. and Mrs. Joe Willardson last Sunday afternoon and evening when they invaded the Willardson home with a big basket supper. The occasion was the fortieth wedding anniversary anniver-sary of Mr. and Mrs. Willardson. As an esteem of respect, Mrs. Willardson Willard-son was presented with a beautiful gold ring set with a ruby, together with other remembrances. At 6 o'clock supper was served and the evening was most pleasantly spent in music and a general social time. o The regular study class of the Presbyterian Pres-byterian society of Gunnison met at the chapel last Tuesday afternoon with an encouraging attendance. Mrs. Hermansen gave an interesting reading read-ing from the study book, "The Crusade Cru-sade of Compassion." It was also the meeting day of the Light Bearers band and the little ones were entertained enter-tained by a reading by Miss Rosie Curtis Cur-tis on "The Lamplighters Across the Seas." Refreshments were served 'y Mrs. II. W". Cherry and Mrs. Edna Swain. o Mr. and Mrs. Ray Metealf gave a dinner party last Monday night at i iheir home in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Erick Erickson, who are the guests at the Metealf home from Hingham.
