Show Sugar Kings Give Salina a Trouncing Smarting under the thrashing administered ad-ministered them by the' Gunnison Kings, the Salina baseball ' team, wailing and "yelling thief robbers," etc.. were sent home last Sunday afternoon humiliated The Sevier county ballists were given a trouncing trounc-ing and in one of the best little games seen here for some time, with a score of 13 to 7. Characteristic of the Salina boys, there was a "howl" because Umpire Powers, doing strikes, balls and bases all alone, could not get everything going, and the game was long-drawn out because of the many delays and sessions in "rag-chewing." Barring the few delays. ' however, the. game was a good one and one . of the biggest crowds seen at the local diamond for some time enjoyed the sport. Lester Fredrickson, the premier of pitchers for the Southern Utah league, was in his usual form, and while the visitors found him occasionally, occa-sionally, the hits were scattered, and at no time in the game was the redoubtable re-doubtable Lester in danger of losing los-ing his game. Not alone was Fredrickson in trim' for the visitors, but all his teammates team-mates were up in mettle and gave loyal support. |
