Show Vicious Horse Kicks Boy In Head Wesley Tollestrup, son of Marshal Mar-shal Koscoc Tollestrup, was rendered unconscious and suffered a slight j fracture of the skull above the right ear, when he was kicked by a horse last Sunday night. The injury was! received shortly after 9 o'clock and Wesley did not regain consciousness until after 4 o'clock the following morning, and that he escaped so fortunately for-tunately is a mystery. Wesley, in company with Austin Kearns and Grant Larson, were driving driv-ing to Mayfield in a two-wheel cart. The boys were loitering along when, according to the Kearns boy, Wesley raised up in his seat and gave the horse, a spirited one, a couple of lashes with the whip. He was on the point of turning around to sit down when the horse, kicking over the single tree, struck Wesley on the side of the head, knocking him out of the cart. The boy was rendered unconscious. Just at this time Miles Madsen and Sidney Baxter of Gunnison happened along, and upon learning of the accident loaded the injured boy into their car and hurried hur-ried him to Dr. Hagan's office, where an examination was made and where first aid treatment was given. Shortly Short-ly after the boy was taken to his home, where he lay in a comatose condition until after after 4 o'clock the following morning, when he again came to his senses. Wednesday Wesley was able to be up and about, and while suffering slightly from the soreness resulting result-ing from the kick, it is thought all danger is passed and if no complications compli-cations arise he will soon be able to resume work again. |
