Show SPECIALIST VISITS VALLEY. A few of the dairy cooperators of Centerfield, Clarion, Gunnison, Manti, Man-ti, Spring City, Mt. Pleasant, Fair-view Fair-view and Milburn, were paid a visit by State Dairy Specialist Ben R. El-dredge El-dredge of the Extension service ot the Utah Agricultural college. Uncle Ben is urging at this time, as he also al-so urged before, that careful records be kept of each individual cow and that her milk be tested at least once, a month. In no other way will dairying dairy-ing be put upon a profitable basis, as there is no other way of detecting the boarder cows. The per capita consumption of milk, butter, cheese and other dairy products in Utah is only 70 per cent of the per capita consumption in the nation. Of the small amount we do use in Utah we import one-sixth from other states. Due to our favorable natural conditions condi-tions we should be exporters rather than importers. If the quality product pro-duct is produced there will be no fear for an overproduction. |
