Take s x rablespnonfuls of olive oil, two labie j spoonfuls of cider vinegar, a table-spoonful table-spoonful of salt, a few dashes of white j pepper and two tablespoon fu's of Zrated apple. Beat the oil, vinegar and seasonings until thick. Wash and dry the lettuce. Add the grated apple to the dressing just before serving. The same amount of grated carrot may be added with the apple and a hit of onion juice, for variety. Apple Fritters. Take one cupful of flour, one-fourth teaspoonftil of salt, one-half teaspoonftil of baking powder, two eggs, one-half cupful of milk, one-half one-half cupful of sugar and three apples.
