Show Gunnison Boy Is Carving Big Record Lester Frederickson, pride of the Gunison Kings during the past three seasons and who is now lined up with the Springville baseball club, is clouting out a record for himself at his new home and incidentally showing what Gunison can produce j in the way of baseball players. Al- j . ready Fredrickson has participated I in several games and he has "dished up" a bunch of admirers. The Springville Independent commenting on Fredrickson, says: "But at that Spanish Fork, would not have won if it hadn't been for the third ining, when the Springville Spring-ville infield slowed up in fielding, which combined with a. breeze of hitting, some lucky hits, too, and Spanish Fork had four runs, suffi-cien suffi-cien to win the game. Outside that third inning Fredrickson went along in great shape, outpitching his older opponent. In Fredrickson, a newcomer new-comer in the league, Springville has a "find," not a bad outfielder, a good pitcher, and one of the speediest speedi-est runners in the league. Fredrickson Fred-rickson fanned nine Spaniards." Lester has worked as pitcher in many games already this season and is showing better than ever before. Reports from some of the games, too, show a remarkable gain in batting bat-ting for the speedy pitcher. In a game played last week he snagged a three-base hit and in other games he got real well acquainted with the "willow" and clouted several singles. Fredrickson has hosts of friends throughout Sanpete and Sevier counties who will be might.v glad to know he is "making good." He is a genuine product ..of Gunnison and got his training with the local team. |
