Colo., were the guests at j the home of JL'. and Mrs. J. C. Peter- son last Sunday. Mr. Peterson is in Utah looking for a business location. Miss Christy Madsen and Miss Belva Erickson and Scott Linnell were here last Sunday from Salt Lake. They motored down Saturday and returned Sunday evening. The Gunnison ward primary association asso-ciation this week shipped a large box of wearing apparel and forwarded a check for $15.00 to the children of the Convalescent home at Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Roselund and son, Robert, of Eureka, were the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Anderson last Sunday. They returned home the early part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Madsen, and John and Odell Madsen, were motor travelers to McGill, Nevada, yesterday yester-day morning. They will be absent several days visiting with the Madsen Mad-sen boys who are working at the Nevada mining town. Mr. and Mis. Lloyd Anderson and family left the first of the week for a tour of Southern Utah's scenic wonderland. They will be absent ten days and wil visit Bryce canyon, Cedar Brakes and other notable places. Mrs. E. L. Swalberg , was hostess to a number of the members of the Bonne Foi club yesterday afternoon The usual needlecraft hour was enjoyed. en-joyed. Mis. Clinton Edwards gave the reading and following delicious refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. 0. L. Malmgren of Centerfield, are receiving the congratulations con-gratulations of their many friends over the arrival of a fine baby boy j at their home. The little fellow took up his residence at the Malmgren home last Monday and both he and his mother are doing splendidly. Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Anderson entertained at a dinner party last Sunday afternoon complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Rosenlund of Eureka, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rosenlund, Rosen-lund, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Oberg and Mrs. M. A. Rosenlund of May-field. May-field. A. H. Smith, for the past two months pastry baker at the local bakery, accompanied by Mrs. Smith, left Tuesday for Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Smith has purchased a bakery at the Missouri metropolis and will embark in business for himself. The Misses Dora Coates, Arvilla Peterson and Francis Kearns were hostesses at a lawn party at the Coates home- Friday evening of last week. Dancing and games were immensely im-mensely enjoyed and at 10 o'clock refreshments were served to fifteen guests. Miss Vio and . Luciie Sorenson, who spent the summer vacation in Gunnison, left Tuesday for Salt Lake to take up their duties as instructors in the schools there. Miss Vio Sorenson Sor-enson has been named as principal of the Edison schools and Miss Luciie Lu-ciie will instruct in English at the Irving Junior high school. Miss Lilly Johnson, who spent a portion of her summer vacation in Gunnison visiting at the home of Mr and Mrs. E. L. Swalberg, left for Mt. Pleasant the first of this week for a brief visit to her mother. Miss Johnson has been retained as instructor in-structor in the West Jordan schools for the coming fall and winter term Mr. and Mrs. T. E. McQuarry and Miss Irene McQuarry, of McGill, Nevada, Ne-vada, and Mr. and Mrs. Teddy Okel-berry Okel-berry and Miss Virginia Okelberry of Goshen, came in last Friday and were the guests at the home of Mr and Mrs. Ira Overfelt for serevai days. The visitors, together with Mr and Mrs. Overfelt and family, spen Saturday and Sunday at Daniels canyon on a fishing trip. |
