Show INCREASE OTHER CROPS. Economists who have studied the subject have come to the conclusion that food production does not keep up with the increase of population because we have depended upon an increased acreage to produce this increased production, rather than an increased production per acre. Anything, Any-thing, therefore, that will increase the production of food per acre will directly benefit every resident of the United States. Observing farmers who have grown sugar beets for several years have learned that there is a large increase in the production of other crops following fol-lowing beets. This at times reaches as high as 100 per cent. These results are not problema-tional, problema-tional, but have been attained in Europe in actual practice over a long term of years. The fostering and protection of tho growing of sugar beets anywhere in. the United States automotically lowers the high cost of living. |
