Show Centerfleld Opposes Raise In Light Rate The citizens of Centerfleld will oppose any raise in the rates of the Telluride Power company, and to frustrate such a move, If possible, a strong petition is being prepared and will be foi warded to the public utilities utili-ties commission for consideration when protests from users will be heard. Soren Anderson 'and Chas. H. Embley have been appointed a committee to draft and circulate a petition opposing any raise in the rates. The petition is a strong one and sets out mainly that the rates are sufficiently high at present and that a further raise would be unjust and would work undue hardships. Chas. II. Embley announces that ho is a grandfather to a fine baby girl, born to Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Barton at Morgan Thursday of last week. t Both Mr. and Mrs. Barton are teachers and it Is reported that both will now take to "home training." train-ing." Mr. and Mrs. Leo Beck returned here laat Friday, from a two-year mission in the southern states. They gave splendid talks at the sacramental sacrament-al meeting Sunday afternoon and at the conjoint meeting in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Beck Were given an elahorale reception at the home ol Oswcll Bock last Friday evening. Miss Gladys Thompson of Tremon-ton Tremon-ton is visiting with relatives and friends here. She is at the home of her aunt, Mrs A. N. Fjoldsted. The missionary party to be given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Beck will be held at the meeting house Wednesday Wed-nesday evening of next week. An invitation is extended to all to be present end to bring your "goodies" and eat, and enjoy a real time. A program will be given at 8:30, and following dancing, games and other amusements will be indulged In. |
