The unappropriated water of Cotton Cot-ton Creek, amounting to 40,000 acre feet per year, is to be onveyed by a canal to the Pleasant valley and j there, along with the unappropriated : water of the Price river, amounting to 75,000 acre feet, will be impounded impound-ed in a reservoir, according to the filing. Water will be stored whenever when-ever available throughout the year and used as needed during the irrigation irri-gation season. Tentative plans contemplate the construction of a canal to convey water down the Price river canyon to Colton and thence east to Soldier Summit where it will be commingled with the water of S'.ldiers Fork and taken out in a canal near Tucker. From hero it will be conveyed by a canal via Thistle and Indiauola to the head of the Sanpete valley. At this point one branch of the canal will lead along the east side .of San- pete valley and the other by way ot Fountain Green to the head of Salt Creek canyon where it is proposed to commingle the water with that ol the Salt Creek and convey the lauds ajacent to Nephi, Levan and Mona. Some of the lands to be irrigated are now partially supplied with water wa-ter and the plan will give them a supplemental supply. The filing calls for water to be taken from the Price river from a point below the confluence of the river and Fish Creek which is now withdrawn from filing pending the completion of plans of the Price river riv-er irrigation company. |
