Show Isaak Waltons Flock To Streams Tomorrow, the fifteenth day of June one of the days of days the day when the office man lays aside his cares, his work and worries and hies himself to the brooks and lakes it the biggest day of the year the opening of the fishing season in Utah, oh, boy! Sports in Gunnison, those who can get away, are now on their way to the streams. During the past several sev-eral days car after car of happy business men men who love the sport of casting the luring fly or dropping the fat chubby angle worm into a shady nook, only to be snapped by the equally sporty trout, have been wending their way to the favorite lake or stream to be on the ground in time to be ready for the great national sport which starts promptly at 4 o'clock tomorrow, Friday Fri-day morning. Reports from the headquarters of the state fish and game commission at Salt Lake are to the effect that the fishing promises to be better this year than ever before. The streams, as a rule are reported- clear and in splendid condition for the fly fisherman as well as the man who juggles the fishing worm. Very few streams are placed on the restricted last and these restrictions are only on lakes and streams necessarily protected for young fish. Daniel's canyon, Fish Lake, Yogo, Lost Creek and Maple Grove will draw the Gunnison fishermen. . These places are said to be among the best at this season, and trout are to be found in abundance. Bass fishing, particularly in the lakes in Sevier county, is good and those who enjoy a tussel with the big black boys will seek places at these lakes. It is estimated that fully 50,000 fishermen will be on deck early tomorrow to-morrow morning. Only for the fact that there are two papers to issue, there would be 50,001 but then a promise has been made that the editor edi-tor will receive a splendid mess, and for this reason the grief is not so deep. To arms, the rod, reel and line and a supply of flies the season opens tomorrow. |
