Show School Bonds Carry By Safe Majorities Gunnison and Centerfield Poll Heavy Vote for Bonds Ephraim Almost Al-most Solid Against: In the face of opposition by Ephraim, Eph-raim, Payette and.-Sterling, all of which cast heavy majorities against the BChool bond issue of $200,000 for a new high school at Gunnison and for the purpose of remodeling the several buildings through the South Sanpete school district, the bonds . were carried with a safe majority of 85 votes. There was was much activity in the Gunnison precinct and while there was little or no opposition to the bonds, those favoring the issue worked faithfully and hard to get the vote out, with the result that nearly CO "per cent of the property taxpayers turned out and gave an affirmative vote for the bonds. There were four, however, that opposed the bonds. Centerfield, loyal almost to a voter, came near casting a 100 per cent vote for the bonds, the result being 111 for with 1 against. In Ephraim and Fayette the opposition against the bonds were most pronounced. Ephraim gave 7 for the bonds and 213 against. Fayette also showed a backward spirit when she returned 3 5 votes in opposition to the bonds as against 2 for.
