Show Graduating Class Given Diplomas Graduation exercises at the high school auditorium last Sunday evening even-ing marked the successful tremhua-tion tremhua-tion of the first year in the magnificent magnifi-cent new school building. While the class just receiving diplomas does not compare with other sister high schools in the southern part of the state in point of number, particularly, particular-ly, preparations are being made to increase and improve many features and it is belived that next year the number of graduates will be materil-ly materil-ly increased. Eleven student, Thelma Olsen, Al-thea Al-thea Sorenson, Lucile Beck, Alta Peterson, Laura Ferre and Ida Johnson, John-son, Virgil Christensen, Milton Perkins, Per-kins, Orion Myrup, Therus Sorenson and Kearnes Ferre, constituted the class that were awarded diplomas at Sunday night's commencement exercises. ex-ercises. This number exceeds any previous year since the establishment establish-ment of the high school at this city. The exercises given was highly-interesting and entertaining, the numbers num-bers given by the graduates, the address ad-dress by Dr. Fredrick Pack and the presentation of the diplomas were impressive. The senior class, now ready to go forth in new duties, did exceptionally well- and merited the liberal applause that was accorded them. Dr. Fredrick Pack of Salt Lake, gave the address of the evening. His advice to the students, the logical and sound reasoning for gaining a higher education was broadened by the eloquence shown. Following the presentation of the diplomas to the graduating class by Joseph A. Larson, a member of the county school board, the farewll song and benediction colsed one of ' the most successful commencement exercises ex-ercises ever held in the valley. |
