Clarence Fredrickson, chief "devil" at the News office, spent several days on a vacation trip to Springville this week. Mi.ss Betty Villard left for Salt Lake the first of the week. She will be gone a month and will visit with her uncle, Herbert Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Beck and Mr. and Mrs. George Larson returned last evening from a ten-day vacation trip to Twelve Mile canyon. Mrs. J. F. Hanna and Mrs. J. E. Mum ford and son of Wayne county, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Christensen this week. John E. Mellor, vice-president of the Gunnsion Valley Bank, was here from Manti Wednesday looking after business interests. Mrs Loa Christensen, who has been the guest, of her parents for several weeks past, returned to her home in Rigby, Idaho, the first of the week Anton Yepson veteran of the Indian In-dian Wars in Utah, is spending the week at Spanish Fork mingling with the veterans in session there this week. Miss Ella Gribble, who has been vistiing with, friends and relatives at Idaho Falls, Idaho, for the past two weeks, returned to her home in Gunnison Gun-nison Wednesday evening. Mrs. Francis Halvcrson, and her daughter, Deoine, came in from Rigby Idaho, Wednesday evening. They will be here ten days or two weeks visiting visit-ing with relatives and friends. Andrew Anderson and J. P: Fjeld-sted Fjeld-sted were among the veterans from Gunnison who went to Spanish Fork this week to participate in the annual an-nual reunion of the Black Hawk warriors. Dr. J. A. Hagan left for Salt Lake City Tuesday. Accompanied by Mrs. Hagan and her daughters, Dr. Hagan returned last evening. Mrs. Hagan and the girls have been absent at the 1 eapitol city fur a week visiting with friends. j 1 Mr. and Mrs. J. C. P. Norman, who j have resided in Gunnison for the past two years, left for Southern California Cali-fornia last Saturday. They will lo-2 lo-2 tie on the coast. Mr. and Mrs. Norman, during their residence here made hosts of warm friends who will join in wishing them success and happiness at their new home. Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Balle, who were called here by the illness of their daughter, returned to their home at Fremont Monday. They were accompanied ac-companied by their granddaughter, Miss Ruby Behunin. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Voorhees, Mr. and Mrs. Alon.o Voorhees and Leon Behunin went to Fremont last Tuesday Tues-day to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Bert Behunin, held at the Wayne county town Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Overfelt, Misses Lois and Helen and Master Eugene Overfelt and Mr. and Mrs. Stoors and Garn Stoors, motored to Richfield Rich-field last evening and enjoyed a chicken chick-en dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Storrs. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Tuft of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Tuft of Monroe, Mon-roe, motored to Spanish Fork Tuesday Tues-day morning. They will be absent until Saturday and will attend the annual reunion of the Indian War Veterans. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Mctcalf and Miss Melba Metcalf motored to Marysvale Tuesday and were the guests of Dr. and Mrs. R. C. Swal-berk. Swal-berk. During their stay they visited Bullion Canyon and eujoyed a picnic pic-nic dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kcarns, Mrs. Emma Kearns and Mr. and Mrs. Austin Kearns motored to Spanish Fork Tuesday of this week. They will attend the annual reunion of the Indian War veterans being heid at Spanish Fork this week. Miss Lilly Johnson, who has been attending summer school- at the University Uni-versity of Utah, has returned to her home in Gunnison. Miss Johnson will remain here until next month when she will go to West Jordan where she has been retained as teacher teach-er at the West Jordan schools. |
