Show Wool Clip Brings Handsome Returns ! i Approximately $175,000 is being distributed to the sheepmen of this valley and at Manti, as a result of the wool shipments that are being sent out this week over the Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad and destined de-stined to Boston. Eleven carloads of wool will be sent out by Saturday and it is estimated that there will be fully 350,000 pounds in the entire shipment. ; For the major portion of the wool 50 cents per pound will be received. Practically all of the largest sheep-! men of the Gunnison Valley and at Manti were in on the pool which call- ed for 50 cents per pound. Some of the feeders, those who carried small Hocks during the winter, received only 45 cents. As a rule, though, the prices are regarded as exceptionally exception-ally good and compare well with the price throughout the country . The shipments being made this week does not comprise the entire product for the season for the county. coun-ty. Many of the herds are yet to be sheared and owners residing here have flocks elsewhere and when the final returns are received it is estimated esti-mated that the returns from the wool will go over $200,000. Practically all of the wool was purchased for Boston concerns. |
