Show Federal Prosecutor Gathers Data Here Henry Ward Beer, chief counsel for the federal trades commissron and who has been conducting the prosecution of the Utah-Idaho and Amalgamated Sugar cpmpanies, was here last week making an investigation investiga-tion of local conditions regarding the competitive end of beet acreage solicitation. He was accompanied by W. Harvey Ross of the Gunnison Valley Sugar company. Mr. Beer stated .that the case which has been pending for several months against the Utah sugar companies com-panies would more than likely be completed by the end of this week. As an idea of the vast task, it has been. Mr. Beer stated that there' were 14,000 pages of testimony submitted and over 700 exhibits in the case. Just as'soon as the testimony is completed com-pleted in Utah the task of preparing :he arguments and filing the briefs to submit to the federal trade commission com-mission at Washington, will be started. start-ed. It will take at least five months to complete the work and prepare .this work. |
