Show Cooperation Makes Prosperous Town Michael Jensen, the well known townsman, who has just returned from a six weeks' vacation and business busi-ness trip, is a stronger "booster" for Gunnison and the Gunnison Valley than ever before. During his ab-sncce ab-sncce he visited Salt Lake City, Eureka, Eu-reka, Nev., and returning visited several sev-eral of the towns in Utah county, and was a visitor to the annual reunion of the Indian War Veterans at Spanish Span-ish Fork last week. "During my visit to the several smaller towns in Nevada and Northern North-ern Utah." said Mr. Jensen, "I found that organization of forces was what built the several smaller communities up to the present high standard the towns are now enjoying. Conservative Conserva-tive and constructive cooperation will do and has done wonders for many of the towns. Through well organized or-ganized commercial clubs, where every ev-ery citizen puts his shoulder square to the wheel and put over big things, is where you find prosperous and thriving communities and it was my lot to see just such conditions on my recent visit. "I doubt if there is a valley in the entire state that offers a better future than our little valley right here. We have an abundance of water for irrigating irri-gating purposes, we have a climate that is unexcelled and the soil, when properly cared for, will "produce just as prolific crops as any of it. What we must do is to get together, advertise adver-tise our valley and get more settlers here to care for the lands that are now idle. When this is accomplished ind the large valley dotted with homes of the happy farmer, then and only then, will Gunnison Valley prosper pros-per as it should." |
