Cattle To Be Fed Here That the movement started by the farm bureaus of southern Utah and of Sanpete county towards getting stock from other sections for feeding purposes is bearing fruit, is evidenced evi-denced by the announcement that Messrs. Benj. Brown and Ernest. Swalberg will shortly receive 500 steers to care for. Mr. Brown, who only recently returned from Wayne county, stated that arrangements had been completed to trail the big herd of steers from the southland to the Brown ranch on the west side of the ; valley. It is expected that the cattle will arrive here about the 25th of this month and everything will he in readiness for their reception. The feeding will be on the percentage basis ba-sis and is one of the plans arranged by tha state farm bureau and adopted by the local organization. "There is room and plenty of first class feed in the Gunnison valley for fully 10,000 head of sheep and cattle," cat-tle," said Mr. Brown. "While we have the supply of hay it will be necessary nec-essary to let the fact be known and when this is done and our modern facilities fa-cilities explained I do not believe there will he any trouble in disposing of our big surplus of hay and feed." Since it has become known that this valley offers some of the best feed and advantages for feeding stock many inquiries have been Te- ceived, and it is thought that within the next few weeks several thousand head of sheep and cattle will arrive here for winter feeding and fattening. |
