Show Old Time Resident Crosses Divide .Soren C. Jensen, a former resident : : of Centerfield and well and favorab- ly known throughout the county, , died at his home at Levari Wednes-. Wednes-. day of last week. Mr. Jensen had been a sufferer for ten months from chronic heart trouble. Impressive funeral services were held at the Levari meeting: house for the deceased on Thursday of last j week and later the body was taken to Centerfield where it lay in state at ! the home of his brother, Brigham Jensen, until Saturday, when further services were held. At 3 o'clock Saturday, Sat-urday, and under the direction of the ward bishopric, final services were conducted in the presence of manj grief stricken relatives and friends. "Shall We Meet Beyond the River" was the opening song after which Oswell Beck offered prayer. After the song ''Rock of Ages," Jens Beck and Andrew Fjeldsted spoke briefly. They paid a high tribute to the departed de-parted and spoke of the kindly dis position and the many good qualities of the departed. "Sometime We'll Understand" was sang by the choir and Bishop Soren Anderson gave a short address. "I Need Thee Every Hour" was the closing selection by the choir. Benediction was pronounced by Andrew An-drew Jensen and the dedication ol the grave was by Hans Anderson of Levan. s Soren Christian Jensen was born in Deammingland, Denmark, July 13 1852, and was nearly 70 years of ag( at the time of his death. He was the son of S. and Mary Jensen. He came to the Gunnison Valley 35 years ago and has resided here practically ever since. He is survived by his wife. Margaret Jensen, and two brothers Hans C, and Brigham Jensen, of Centerfield. Cyrill Anderson of Centerfield and Miss Naomi Benson of Ephraim were married at the Manti temple Wednesday of this week. After spending a few days at Ephraim at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson will arrive in this city to reside permanently. Mr. Anderson is assistant cashier of the Bank of Centerfield and is well known here and at Ephraim. He is also a member of the Sunday school stake board. Mr.and Mrs. C. H. Embley accompanied accom-panied their daughter, Miss Bertha, and Weston Funk of Sterling, to the temple at Manti Wednesday. A shower was tendered to Mr. and Mrs. Funk at the Gunnison reservoir Sunday Sun-day evening. Many young friends were present and a delightful time enjoyed. The newlyweds received many beautiful and useful presents. Miss Elma Anderson of Sterling-is Sterling-is the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Embley this wek. |
