Show High School Notes. by Alice Pierce , A drive for better , English has been in progress the past week at the High School. Many Interesting cartoons, etc., have been made by the students. We ; hope much better bet-ter English will be the-result of the movement. The "Brown and Gold" with Miss Vera Down as temporary editor will be edited at the school four times a year in the future. Each' class has a (banco of representation in tho book. This is purely a sludent movement move-ment and gives everyone, who wishes it, a chance to express themselves. The "Alezwon". club, composed of tho girls of the H. S. meets every Tuesday. It is a literary and Hewing Hew-ing club, having for its. aim the betterment bet-terment of the school through the unifying of (he girls. The first fifteen fif-teen minutes of the period is taken up by some member of. I he faculty yuid the remain half hour is spent in reading and sewing. The Senior class entertained lnt;t Thursday with a. reading by Mary Tuft, piano nolo by Elnia KJlstcd. and a song by the class.. After tin program the Ag -Club offered a clever clev-er buerlesque. Members of the club, dressed in mouriiig, entered currying a coffin in which Vergil Christensen, representing the student body, Iny in a'stupor mistaken for death. Jr. Ag Club, applied a large amount of enthusiasm and finally succeeded in reviving the student body. Basket, Ball has bocomo quite a feature in II. S. aclivities. The faculty fac-ulty won from the Freshmen boys team last wce,k with a scoro of 8 to 2. The Junior and Senior leimi now holds tho championship of the girls teams. |
