Show j Centerfield "Dry" ! For Several Days j The town of Centerfield was slrief-i slrief-i ly "dry" for several hours the early part of this week, due to the broak-' broak-' ing of the trunk line at Twelve Mile j creek, where the city procurer its city water supply. During the warm spell and when the snow was ruelt-j ruelt-j ing the creek, becoming swollen, re-; re-; suited in changing tho channel. The waters washed the foundation from j underneath the line, with the result j that ono of the joints was disconnected, discon-nected, completer shutting off tho j water supply. A force of men were j hi once put -.o work and .in "ovor- shot," supported by a largo cable, j has been put in. The creek also has j been converted back to the old channel. chan-nel. Water was turned into the city mains and Tuesday tho suffering had been materially relieved. , The outlook for crops in the val- " ley this year never looked better, and if nothing unforeseen happens it is thought the fruit crop will be better than it has been for years. Peter Thompson received word here Wednesday of last week to tho effect that the wife of his son, James Thompson, had passed away at the hospital at Tremonton. M. and Mrs. Peter Thompson left immediately for the north. Mrs. James Thompson will be remembered as Miss Jetta Oiler, who left Axtell several years ago. Besides her husband, she leaves five children, four sons and one daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Will Johnson were called to Salt Lake City last week on account of the death of Mr, Johnson's John-son's mother. James Tassie, accompanied by his three sons and daughter, arrived here last Saturday from Barre, Vt. They will make their permanent home in Centerfield. Mr. Tassio is the father of Mrs. W. R. Jonson of Centerfield. Chreasten Larson died last Friday, following a lingering illness as (he result of appoplexy. ' Ithpressive funeral fu-neral services were held from the meeting house Sunday at 2:30 p. m., following the sacrament. Bishop Herbert Beck presided at the services serv-ices and a selected choir rendered several appropriate songs. John S. Bardfilcy, Bri;;ham Jonson and A. C. Fjeldsted were the principal speak-ers speak-ers at the meeting house services. Chreasten Larson was born in Bcn-slive, Bcn-slive, Denmark. June 21, 1841. He emigrated to this country in 1S75, and settled in Gunnison. In 1S84 he removed to Centerfield, and since has resided hero. Besides a wife, Marana, Peterson, he is survived by two sons, Louritz M. and C. P. Larson, Lar-son, and one daughter. Mrs. Andrew Bogh; (wo brothers and tliirlorn grandchildren. Interment, was held at the Centerfield ecmelory. Miss Aroha. Embley escorted her pupils by train to the; Gunnison Reservoir Res-ervoir park for an outing last Monday. Mon-day.
