Show Max Cohen Buys Gunnison Co-op. With the opening of the present week, the Co-op. store, one of the oldest and best establishments in Southern Utah, passed into the hands of new ownership. Max Cohen, well known throughout Utah as one of the leading merchants, has purchased the stock and fixtures formerly owned by L. Farnk. The amount involved in the transaction is not given at this time but it is said that Mr. Cohen secured it at an attractive price. In addition to the stock in the Gunnison store Mr. Cohen secured an option on the choice stock at the Nephi and Rchfield stores, owned by Mr. Frank. This stock, choice merchandise, will be place at the Gunnison store and in addition the new owner has announced an-nounced that he will add sufficient high class stock to place Gunnison in the high rank for clothing, gents' furnishings, dry goods and shoes. Mr. Cohen has been in business in Salina for some twelve years and during that time has won a host of patrons who know him as an expert in his business in buying and selling to the retail trade. He retains his interests in Salina and will conduct store there as heretofore. R. J. Parr, who has managed the store for Mr. Frank during the past year or more, wall rmain here and will continue the management of the ' store. It is announced that shortly the new stock, together with some new fixtures, will arrive and that the plans will be to carry the very best stock in ladies ready-to-wear suits, cloaks and dresses and men's furnishings. |
