Show New Bank Is Formally Opened The doors of the Gunnison City National bank were formally opened to the public last Saturday morning - under the most pleasing circum stances. The new building, which recently re-cently underwent complete rneova-tion, rneova-tion, was made the most attractive by a profusion of beautiful flowers banked about the corridors. During the day hundreds of visitors were shown through the bank and the im-.mense im-.mense safes and other up-to-date bank fixtures were explained to the visitors by the bank officials who acted act-ed as a reception committee. Souvenirs Souve-nirs were given to both lady and gen-vtleirien gen-vtleirien visitors. "The opening was far beyond our ; expectations," said Cashier Clyde C. Edmonds. "We little expected any business for the opening day, but at "that time and since, the volume of business has proven highly satisfactory satisfac-tory and is steadily growing." The Gunnison City National is the only national bank in the county. It starts out with a cpitalizatlon of $50,-000 $50,-000 and a surplus of $7,500. The officers of-ficers for the new institution are J. M. Knighton, former mayor, as president; presi-dent; James Bown, prominent in financial fi-nancial and stock circles, vice president; presi-dent; Clyde C. Edmonds, formerly with the Copper National bank of Salt Lake as auditor, is cashier. The directors di-rectors are: J. M. Knighton, William Motcalf, S. M. Duggins, James Bown J. N. Christiansen, William Bown, Jr., M. Beauregard, Hans C Olson and Joseph Willardson. |
