Show VETERAN OF TWO GREAT WARS Adolph Lowe of Lansdale, Pa., Participated Par-ticipated in Both the Civil and World Conflicts. With the war between North and South in which he fought more than 50 years hehind him, Adolph L. Lowe of Lansdale, Pa., in 1917 again entered en-tered the service of his country In Ihe war with Germany and today at seventy-nine is one of the most remarkable re-markable members of the American Legion. His age, naturally enough, debarred him from going to sea three years ago with the navy, which he joined as a carpenter's mate and he was assigned to the base at Cherrystone Cherry-stone island, Va.. nnd later to the Norfolk Nor-folk navy aviation center, Ihe Portsmouth Ports-mouth naval hospital and the Virginia Vir-ginia Beach rifle range. Although he was denied sea service in the World war, Mr. Lowe saw enough action to last most men the rest of their lives during the Civil war. He took part in the bombardment bombard-ment of Fort Sumter and saw the Merrimac ablaze. Later in the blockade block-ade of Charleston and In naval engagements en-gagements along the coast he went through hard nnd severe lighting.
