Show Centerfleld News (Special Correspondence.) Centerfleld, Jan. 19. The raging blizzard which held full sway for a couple of hours Tuesday evening was a reminder of real winter. It was the most severe storm experienced here this winter. The dance scheduled at the sugar, factory Tuesday night was postponed until a later date. Rather than meet disappointment the young folks gathered gath-ered at the opera house and enjoyed a dance. A successful party was given at the meeting house in Centerfleld last week. The party was tendered by the Sunday school, and cake, pie and chocolate were sold. The revenue from this sale, together with the fees from the dance, netted $51.50 for the Sunday school. J. H. Christiansen was a business visitor to Manti Wednesday. He was accompanied by Mrs. C. H. Embley, Mr. and Mrs. Junius Embley and Mr. and Mrs. James Brierly. Two young men from Gunnison were befort the justice's court at Centerfleld last Monday evening. They were charged with interfering with Marshal Bowns, while the latter lat-ter was making an arrest. The young men entered pleas of guilty and were fined $27.50 each and admonished to walk the "good path." Mr. and Mrs. James Brierly and Miss Irene Brierly have gone to Salt Lake City, where Mr. Brierly has accepted ac-cepted a position in a garage. Mr. : and Mrs. Brierly came from England last summer and during the past several sev-eral months Mr. Brierly has been working at the sugar factory here. , |
