Show Sevier Farmers Want Rehearing Richfield, Utah, Jan. 20. During the recent visit to Salt Lake of the Farm Bureau committeemen attending attend-ing the State Farm Bureau convention conven-tion one member called upon the chairman of the public utilities commission com-mission for the purpose of determining deter-mining whether or not it would be impossible to reopen the case pertaining per-taining to the recent increase in light and power rates that was granted the Telluride Power company. After the committee member had explained to the utilities commission that the patrons of the said power company felt as if they had not received a fair hearing and were very much disappointed disap-pointed to think that at this time, in fall of a general deflation in all lines of industry the commission would grant an increase in rates to this one company. The commission chairman suggested that a petition be prepared asking for a reopening of the case. This appears very encouraging, and the Farm Bureau is now co-operating with other interests in an attempt to gain for the patrons, especially the farmers, the chance for a new hearing and no doubt a reconsideration reconsidera-tion on the part of the utilities commission. |
