Among the hundreds of services that take place Memorial day throughout through-out the land in honor of the soldier dead who have fought their last battle bat-tle and gone to their reward, probably none is more largely attended, and certainly none includes a greater number num-ber of men of national prominence, than that in the magnificent amphitheater amphi-theater in Arlington National cemetery, ceme-tery, on the Virginia heights across the Potomac from the city of Washington. There are seats for 5,000 spectators and standing room for 4,000 more, with places on the platform for about fi00 of the more distinguished guests. The President usually delivers a brief eulogistic address.
