Show APPOINT MEMBERS OF MARKET COMMITTEE Names of Those Selected to Work Out Standard Plan. In r.ccordance with the p,"tion taken at the national egg marketing conference, confer-ence, held by the American Farm Bureau Bu-reau in Chicago last May, Mrs. W. C. Martin, chairman of the conference, announces the appointment of the following fol-lowing members of the national egg marketing committee: James E. Whet-sel, Whet-sel, VIneland, N. J., president, Atlantic Coast Egg Producers' association ; L. R. Simons, Ithaca, N. Y., secretary, marketing and transportation committee, com-mittee, New York State Farm Bureau federation; Mrs. H. W. Lawrence, Monroeville, O., member executive committee, Ohio Farm Bureau federation fed-eration ; C. R. George, Indianapolis, Ind., director dairy and produce marketing, mar-keting, Indiana Farm Bureau federation federa-tion ; J. D. Harper, Chicago, 111., assistant as-sistant secretary, Illinois Agricultural association; Robert W. Bingham, Louisville, Lou-isville, Ky:, member executive committee, com-mittee, Kentucky Farm Bureau federation; fed-eration; A. S. Chapin, Cookeville, Tenn., poultryman; C. E. Hearst, Cedar Ce-dar Falls, la., president, Iowa Farm Bureau federation; J. S. Jones, St. Paul, Minn., secretary, Minnesota Farm Bureau federation ; Benjamin Brown, Salt Lake City, Utah, president, presi-dent, Utah Poultry Producers, Inc.; J. H. Barber, Petaluma, Gal., general manager, Pacific Coast Egg Producers' association. At the request of Walton Peteet, director of the co-operative marketing department of the American Farm Bureau federation, Mrs. Martin has also consented to accept a dace on the national committee. Other names may be added to the committee at a later date. At that time, also, Mrs. Martin will announce the time and place at which the committee com-mittee will hold It-s first meeting, and that portion of the resolution adopted by the conference which authorized the national committee and specified its duties was as follows: "Resolved that an adequate general committee be selected by the chairman of this conference to work out a standard stand-ard plan for such intelligent and orderly or-derly marketing of eggs, adjusted where necessary to the special needs of any particular state or group of states; and that this plan provide for local organization among the owners of hens ; and for federation of such local organization within each state; and for co-ordination between states In the marketing of all eggs; and for standardizing and grading eggs and for merchandising eggs co-operatively and Intelligently, In the hope of bringing bring-ing better returns to the producer nnd better and cheaper eggs to the consumer." |
