Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Nielson of Axtell are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby girl at their home,. The Little Miss came to gladden the Nielson home last Friday evening. All are reported as well at the home. Recent births in the valley are reported re-ported as follows: To Mr. and Mrs. Nielson of Centerfield, Friday March 11, a baby girl; Sunday March 13, a baby boy to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bartholomew. Bar-tholomew. ' Arley Edwards, who has been absent from Gunnison for the past ten months or more, conducting barber shops at Marysvale and Monroe, has returned to the city. He has accepted a position posi-tion with George Francis. C. C. Edmonds, casher of the Gunnison Gunni-son City Bank, has returned from a brief visit to Salt Lake. Mrs. Edmonds, who accompanied her husband to the city, will remain for some' time visiting visit-ing with relatives and friends. The Social Circle club members were the guests of Mrs. Harold Childs Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon of this week. During Dur-ing the "needlecraft" hour Mrs. C. N. Jensen gave a reading "The Heart of the Roses." Delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. R. J. Parr, and son LeRoy Parr, wife and son of Manager R. J. Parr of the Gunnison Coop. , arrived last night from Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Parr will shortly occupy the Christensen home just east of the Gunnison Hotel and they expect to make this city their future home. ' Herbert Rothwill, the genial traveler for the Western Newspaper Union, was the guest of the boss of the News for a short time Saturday and Sunday. Rothwill, like all optimists, is highly encouraged over business conditions and says the newspapers in the territory terri-tory through which he travels, are coming into their own and are lending a great help in "getting conditions back to normal." ' A. L. Buchanan, the Centerfield j farmer, was transacting business, at j the county seat Tuesday of this week. I Miss Margaret Johnson left for Mt, Pleasant Tuesday. She will visit with her mother for severul days. Julius Duggins, of the Casino Motor company, has returned from a short, business visit to Nephi and other points north. ! Quince Crawford of Salt Lake, was1 here for a few days the first of the week as the guest of his daughter; Mrs. Alma Fredrickson. Mrs. Dr. Bea? and daughter, came in from Salt Lake. last Friday evening. Mrs. Beal and her infant baby are enjoying the best of health. Fred Fjeldsted, musical instructor at the Jordan High School, spent last Sunday in Gunnison as the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fjeldsted. Mr. and Mrs.'C. N. Jensen entertained enter-tained a few friends at Progressive Five Hundrnd Tuesday evenihg. Prizes were given to the winners and at ten o'clock refreshments were served. Mrs. J. W. Jones, who has been absent at Salt Lake for the past month visiting with relatives and friend's, returned re-turned to her home in Gunnison Sunday Sun-day evening. Mrs. Fred Jones was a traveler to Salt Lake Wednesday morning of this week. She will be the guest of Miss Virginia Peterson and friends for a week or ten days-Miss days-Miss Virginia Peterson, a stubent of the University at Salt Lake and who was called here to attend the obsequies of Mrs". Albertina Peterson, returned to the city Wednesday morning. W. Harvey Ross, president of the Gunnison Valley Sugar company, was here several days this week. Wednesday Wednes-day night he met with the valley beet growers and discussed the new beet contract. G. G. Light, superintendent of the Gunnison Valley Sugar factory, has returued from a trip to northern points. While away he visited -Salt Lake, Green River Wyo., and other cities, in th e interests of his company. Niel Sorensan acd H. S. sBasow, master plumbers of Gunnison, left for Salt Lake last Sunday.
