Show Society j Mr. and Mrs. Julius Duggins were host and hostess to the members of the Tuesday evening club at their home last Saturday night. Notwithstanding Notwith-standing the fact the storm raged in its fury, practically all members of the club were present and the usual good time was enjoyed. In the contest con-test for honors at Progressive Five Hundred Mrs. J. E. Metcalf won first while the gentleman's prize was captured cap-tured by Niel Sorenson. Mrs. Duggins Dug-gins served her guests with delicious refreshments at 10 o'clock. o The Gunnison Dramatic club held an unusually interestingvmeeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Swal-berg Swal-berg last Friday night. The club members had as their special guest Mathonihah Thomas of Salt Lake. Mr. Thomas gave readings from Shakespeare's "Macbeth" and also entertained the members with readings read-ings from Kipling's works, giving them in their Scottish dialect. o - Mrs. Niel Sorenson entertained a number of little folks last Friday evening in honor of the anniversary of her daughter, Miss Marjorie Sorenson. Sor-enson. o The members of the Social Circle club were the guests of Mrs. George Halverson Wednesday afternoon . During the needle work hour Mrs. J. E. ' Metcalf gave a reading entitled "The Story of the Other Wise Man." Following the work period refres-ments refres-ments were served. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Knighton gave a "housewarming" party at their new home Monday night. Progressive Progres-sive Five Hundred, vocal and instrumental instru-mental music and recitations were the features of entertainment. Prizes at cards were given Mrs. O. H. Halverson Hal-verson and H. M. Childs. Lunch was served to twenty guests. j |
