Show GROCERS IM-EET IN SALT LAKE Advocate Legislation to Curb Price Discriminations. Salt Lake City. Following upon the heels of the Rotary convention comes the gathering of the retail grocers of the nation in the Utah capital. The part played by the retail grocers groc-ers in the war and the problems facing fac-ing them in the reconstruction were the two principal themes discussed at the opening sessions of the twenty-sixtn twenty-sixtn annual convention of the National Na-tional Retail Grocers' association, which opened here June 22. Pleas for greater co-operation among retail grocers, arraignment of the packers, the advocacy of legislation to curb price discriminations, severe criticism crit-icism of the "cash and carry" and chain store systems of retail merchandising merchan-dising and a warning to retailers that with the signing of the peace treaty a downward trend in foodstuffs probably will come within thirty days, were some of the subjects presented. |
